She went on to win a total of 14 competitions, including the Luciano Pavarotti International Voice Competition resulting in her appearing as Tosca opposite Luciano Pavarotti which launched her international career. She was also winner of the Best Debut Artist's Award at New York City Opera and nominated for the Maria Callas Award at Dallas.
