Showreel

Cristiana Oliveira turned to singing after her first degree as a violinist. Completing her second degree this time in singing, she joined the New York Opera Studio, where she studied under the celebrated director Nico Castel and appeared there in the role of Yaroslavna in Borodin’s Prince Igor. She went on to win first prize of the XIV Estoril International Interpretation Competition for her interpretation of the Strauss Four Last Song and the Special Prize - Concert a Milano - at the International Vocal Competition Maria Malibran in Milan. She returned to Portugal where she quickly established herself as an important talent, appearing with principal orchestras throughout the country and with the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, both in staged productions and in concert performances. She regularly appears in Oratorio and has sung soprano solo in the Verdi Messa da Requiem, the Mozart Requiem, Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio, the Bomtempo Requiem, the Dvorak Requiem and Stabat Mater, the Rossini Stabat Mater and Mahler’s Symphony No. 2. She has also featured as soloist with the São Carlos National Orchestra at Festival ao Largo and Dias da Musica Festival at Teatro Nacional de São Carlos and Centro Cultural de Belem, both recorded and broadcast live by RTP2 – Portuguese National Television.  She has been much praised for her Lieder recitals in Portugal, Spain, Italy and the USA, several of which have been recorded and broadcast on Antena 2 – Portuguese Classical Radio. Most recently she appeared in the concert Beethoven – Akademie 1808 in which she sang the concert aria Ah Perfido and she made her role debut as Maddalena Andrea Chenier at Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania. Future plans include Leonora Il Trovatore for Staatstheater Wiesbaden and Musetta La Boheme for Finnish National Opera
