A native of Seattle, Gary Jankowski performed in the theatres of Chicago, Milwaukee, Orlando, Indianapolis, San José and Cincinnati. After moving to Germany he went on to appear in Nuremberg, Schwerin, Rostock, Freiburg and Halle/Saale, with festival appearances at the Händel-Festspiele Halle, Festival Castell de Peralada, Donostia/San Sebastian, Schlossfestspiele Schwerin, Dorset Opera and the Festungsspiele Ehrenbreitstein. He has also made guest appearances in Leipzig, Bremen and Berlin. Among his most important roles in Europe are Baron Ochs DER ROSENKAVALIER, König Marke TRISTAN UND ISOLDE, Hagen, Hunding and both Fafners in DER RING DES NIBELUNGEN, Rocco FIDELIO, Osmin DIE ENTFÜHRUNG AUS DEM SERAIL, Fiesco SIMON BOCCANEGRA and Il Commendatore DON GIOVANNI.
