Irini Karaianni (Mezzo-Soprano) - APA Artists' Management Alexandra Mercer - www.apaartistsmanagement.com Born in Athens, Irini Karaianni graduated with honours from the Athenaeum School of Music and was awarded scholarships from both the A. Onassis Foundation and the Maria Callas Foundation. These enabled her to attend the Conservatorio di Musica di Santa Cecilia in Rome, to study under Victoria de Los Angeles in Barcelona and also under Maria Luisa Cioni in Milan. She went on to London where she studied acting and dance and was a member of the Mayer Lissmann Opera Centre where she appeared as Micaëla CARMEN, Donna Elvira DON GIOVANNI, Cherubino LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and Mimi LA BOHEME. This lead to her successful debut at the Megaron Mousikis in Athens, singing Electra PYLADES by Kouroupos and the beginning of her international career. In 1998 she won the Giuseppe di Stefano International Competition.
