Greek soprano, Irini Kyriakidou was awarded the Maria Callas scholarship and studied at the Maria Callas Conservatory of Athens under Marina Krilovici. She was awarded a gold medal and graduated with honours. She subsequently won second prize in the Maria Callas Grand Prix International Singing Competition, gained the European Foundation of Culture Award and first prize in the Debut 2004 Singing Competition. She went on to study at the International Opera Studio in Zurich.
