Born in Belgorod, Karina Kherunts first studied for a diploma and degree in both opera and chorus singing, continuing her vocal studies at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She went on to win prizes in the finals of many prestigious international competitions and now appears in Moscow’s principle concert halls and at the Bolshoi Theatre. Most recently she enjoyed considerable success at the Boshoi in the role of the Sorceress Dido and Aeneas.
