Graduating from Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito di Parma he gained first class honours from the University degli Studi di Parma, going on to the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He founded the Erlebnis Chamber Orchestra specialising in 20th century and contemporary music and the Notti Malatestiane Festival in Rimini. He has conducted opera and symphony concerts throughout Italy and the rest of Europe and is a regular contributor to Ricordi Milano and the Istituto di Studi Verdiani di Parma.

Recently:
He made his debut in Paris with L'Orchestra National de France at both the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and the Théâtre du Châtelet, conducting concerts comprising Schubert: SYMPHONY NO. 3, Schubert/Listz: WANDERER FANTASY and Sibelius: SYMPHONY NO. 2, followed by his debut with Opéra National de Paris at the Palais Garnier, conducting ORFEO ED EURIDICE, an opera-danseè with choreography by Pina Bausch. His London debut was with Opera Holland Park conducting the double bill of ZANETTO and GIANNI SCHICCHI. His New York City debut was conducting ORFEO ED EURIDICE at the Lincoln Center Festival.
Future Plans:
A return to Opéra National de Paris (Palais Garnier) for more performances of ORFEO ED EURIDICE and a concert conducting the Atelier Lyrique at La Bastille; DON CARLO at Theater Erfurt; CENERENTOLA at Staatstheater Stuttgart.
