Marita Paparizou (Mezzo-Soprano) - APA Artists' Management Alexandra Mercer - www.apaartistsmanagement.com Born in Volos, Greek mezzo-soprano, Marita Paparizou graduated with honours from the Orfeion Conservatory in Athens. She received a scholarship from the Achillopouleion Foundation and was also awarded the Alexandra Triandi Scholarship from the Friends of Music Foundation. In 2000 she won the first special prize in the Leyla Gencer Competition in Instabul, going on to make her debut in Genova in the first world presentation in modern times of Nicola Porpora's ARIANNA IN NASSO, singing the role of Onaro, recorded on CD by Bongiovanni. Another appearance in a first world presentation was as Tauride in ARIANNA IN CRETA, recorded for MDG. Now she appears regularly with Greek National Opera and abroad.
