Born in Satu Mare, Romanian soprano Nicoleta Ardelean studied at the G. Dima Music Academy. She was prizewinner in many competitions, including the "Sabin Dragoi" National Vocal Interpretation Contest in Timisoara, the "Hariclea Darclee" International Canto Contest- Braila; she won the "N. Bretan" Award at the "Nicolae Bretan" International Vocal Interpretation Contest in Cluj-Napoca and was awarded the Musical Critics Award and second place at the International Singing Contest in Bilbao. Following her international debut at Opéra National du Rhin she received an award that recognizes artistic talent from the European Foundation for culture, affiliated to the European Parliament.
