Born in Tokyo, Yasuo Horiuchi studied at the Milan Conservatoire and was winner of the International Singing Competition of Toulouse, the Julián Gayarre Singing Competition and the Concurso Internacional de Canto de Bilbao. He went on to appear in principle theatres throughout Europe, including Gran Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Asociación Bilbaína de Amigos de la Ópera Bilbao, Hungarian State Opera and Teatro Nacional de São Carlos Lisbon. He made his debut in Japan as Germont LA TRAVIATA under Kazuchi Ono with the Fujiwara Opera Company alongside Angela Gheorghiu in 1997 and since then has been a member of the Company, singing regularly throughout Japan, appearing with international casts. He is resident in Milan.
