Born in Greece. Dimitris Paksoglou first embarked on a career as an actor and studied at the National Superior School of Drama. As an actor he went on to appear in important Greek theatres, including the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, the Greek National Theatre and the Athens Megaron. He then decided to make a career change and studied singing at the Athens National Conservatory under the guidance of the famous baritone Kostas Paskalis and Marina Krilovici, graduating with distinction. He moved to France where he appeared with several opera companies and his success led Greek National Opera to offer him a contract as a principal tenor. Most recently he performed the title role of Otello at the Croatian National Opera in Rijeka and at the Cultural Centre of Crete in Heraklion and the title role of Don Carlo in Maribor. Future engagements include Manrico Il Trovatore and Cavaradossi Tosca for Estonian National Opera, and a return to Malmö Opera for Roberto Miranda Death and the Maiden.
Greek Dimitris Paksoglou does not sing Cavaradossi with the usual slightly emotional Mediterranean glow. His tenor is more powerfully virile, but also with beautiful splashes of tenderness. He makes his famous song for life with considerable intensity.
AFTONBLADET - Lennart Bromander - Monday 10th February 2020
Dimitris Paksoglou who sang Cavaradossi is a real Italian tenor (although he is Greek) with plenty of power and clear tone up to the highest register.

OTELLO - Croatian National Theatre - October 2022

AFTONBLADET Lennart Bromander - Monday 10th February 2020

Capriccio - Lars-Erik Larsson 23rd December 2019

sverigesradio - Per Feltzin 20th December 2019
The three main roles are often performed at Malmö opera by visiting soloists of the highest class. Lianna Haroutounian and Dimitris Paksoglou make Tosca and Cavaradossi. Paksoglous's tenor is almost dark baritone and Sulimsky's baritone is bright tenoral - and Haroutounian's soprano is deliciously smooth.

SIMON BOCCANEGRA

Critics Corner - Kyriakos Loukakos - 31st March 2019
Celia Costea a real lyrico dramatico voice, which her wealth spread magically in the theater, combined wonderfully with the firm well-built vocalization of the tenor Dimitris Paksoglou as Gabrielle Adorno.

Dimitris Paksoglou as Pinkerton showed a purity of tone and a beautiful range of voice.

O Anagnostis - Helena Houzouri
At the highest standards were the two tenors of the roles Steva and Latsa, Dimitris Paksoglou and the dutch Frank Van Aken. The two tenors with their exceptional banner, intense outstanding stage performance, succeed to brought out with articulation the characteristic differences of the two heroes and their corresponding behaviors.
